Day 1 - 2: Delhi
You will be picked up from the Delhi Airport/railway station. Accommodation will be in a comfortable hostel. A short trip meeting at 18:00 hrs. City tour for visiting forts, palaces and ancient monuments. Red fort, Qutub Minar, Akshardham theme temple, Rashtrapati Bhawan. Connaught Place for shopping.

Day 3 – 5: Bharatpur bird sanctuary
Drive to Bharatpur. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to the UNESCO World heritage site bird sanctuary by the name ‘Keoladeo National park’ for migratory birds. A full day excursion to Agra for Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri fort.     

Day 6 – 8: Ranthambore national park
Drive to Ranthambore. Accommodation in dome tents. Jungle safaris in open jeeps for tigers and other wildlife. Visit to the 1000 year old Ranthambore fort. Rajasthani cultural music, dinner with a local family, wildlife art and artists, camel ride (optional)

Day 9 – 10: The ‘Pink city’ of Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to the Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh fort and Amer fort. Visit to a traditional village restaurant called Chauki Dhani for authentic Rajasthani meals. Street shopping excursion in the Bazaars.

Day 11 – 12: The ‘Sun city/Blue city of Jodhpur’
Drive to Jodhpur. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to Mehrangarh fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace. Shopping excursion for handicrafts.

Day 13 – 15: The ‘Golden city’ of Jaisalmer
Drive to Jaisalmer. Accommodation in dome tents set on sand dunes. Desert safari in the Desert national park looking for the endangered ‘Great Indian Bustard’, Indian gazelle etc. Traditional folk dance of the ‘Thar desert’. Visit to the Jaisalmer fort.

Day 16 – 17: Leopard country of Bera
Drive to Bera. Accommodation in dome tents. Wildlife safaris in the jungles around village Bera looking for leopards and other wildlife. Birding and crocodile tour in the backwaters of Jawai dam.
Day 18 – 19: Little Rann of Kutch
Leaving the state of Rajasthan and drive to Little Rann of Kutch in the state of Gujarat. Accommodation in traditional Kooba huts of Dasada village. Wildlife safaris in the cast salt pans and marshes of the Little Rann looking for Indian wild ass, desert fox, wolves, gazelles, flamingos, pelicans, raptors and hosts of other migratory and resident birds.

Day 20 – 21: Indian savannah of Velavadar National park
Drive to Velavadar National park. Accommodation in dome tents. Wildlife safaris/walks in the grassland of Velavadar looking for Blackbucks, Indian wolves, hyenas, raptors and lots of other migratory and resident birds.

Day 22 – 24: Ahmedabad
Drive to Ahmedabad. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to the Sabarmati river front, Sabarmati ashram (Mahatma Gandhi’s residence). Shopping excursions for traditional Gujarati hand woven clothes, handicrafts and vegetarian street food.

Day 25: Indore
Drive to the city of Indore. Overnight stay at a comfortable hostel. No other activities are planned for this place.

Day 26 – 27: ‘Marble city’ of Jabalpur
Drive to the city of Jabalpur. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit a waterfall on river Narmada, boat cruise in the white marble canyon, water sports at Bargi dam. Shopping excursion for white marble statues, jewellery etc.  

Day 28 – 29: Land of tigers – Bandhavgarh National park
Drive to Bandhavgarh. Accommodation in dome tents. Wildlife safaris in the national park looking for superb tiger sightings along with other wildlife. Visit to a wildlife artist’s studio.

Day 30 – 32: Rudyard Kipling’s inspiration – Kanha National park
Drive to Kanha National park. Accommodation in dome tents. Wildlife safaris in the national park looking for tigers, leopards, Indian bison, wild dogs and lot of birds. Village safari in an open jeep. Tribal dance of the Baiga tribe. Nature walk along the local river. Picnic lunch on the banks of the river.

Day 33 – 34: Achanakmar tiger reserve
Drive to Achanakmar. Accommodation in dome tents/dormitory. Wildlife safaris in the tiger reserve. Nature walks in the buffer area of the reserve. A relaxing spot. 

Day 35 – 37: Satkosia gorge
Drive to the remote gorge formed by the river ‘Mahanadi’ called Satkosia. Accommodation in tents pitched on the sandy banks of the river. Visit to the local forest for birds, mammals, reptile (rare gharial crocs). Interaction with the local tribes. Boating in the river.

Day 38 – 39: Chilika Lake and lagoon
Drive to the Chilika Lake. Accommodation in comfortable hostel next to the lake. Boat cruise in the lake looking for migratory and resident birds on several islands. Visit to the local fishing and tribal villages. Amazing variety of sea food. A session on the variety of marine and terrestrial life in and around the lagoon.

Day 40 – 41: The ‘temple city’ Bhubaneswar
Drive to Bhubaneswar. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to Lingaraj temple, Konark Sun temple, Khandagiri & Udaigiri caves. Excursion to Nandan Kanan zoo, one of the biggest in India.

Day 42 – 44: Tajpur beach
Drive to Tajpur. Accommodation in a beach resort. Relaxing 2 days on the beach. Superb sea food.

Day 45 – 47: City of Kolkata
Drive to Kolkata. Accommodation in comfortable hostel. Visit to the Victoria memorial, India’s one of the biggest Natural History Museum, Kolkata museum, Botanical garden. A ferry ride in the river Hoogli. Authentic Bengali food with locals. Visit to some of the India’s biggest fish markets. Amazing variety of seafood and rich Bengali sweets.

Day 48 – 50: The land of man-eating tigers in the Mangroves – ‘Sunderbans National park’
Drive to Port Canning. Ferry/boat ride to the remote Bali island in the dense mangrove jungle. Accommodation in a budget resort on the Island which is run and managed by the local community. Wildlife safaris in open boats in the waterways and channels looking for tigers, crocodiles, otters, fishing cats, leopard cats, more than 10 species of mangroves and tons of other life that this unique ecosystem offers. Freshly caught fish/seafood cooked in completely traditional style. Visit to the local fishing village on the island.

Day 51 – 53: Jaldapara National park
Drive to Jaldapara. Accommodation in dome tents. Wildlife safaris on elephant’s back/open jeeps looking for Indian one horned Rhino, Indian elephants, hog deer and lots of other endemic wildlife.

Day 54 – 56: The hills with tea estates – Darjeeling
Drive to Darjeeling. Accommodation in dome tents. Visit to the various tea estates of Darjeeling and tea tasting. A ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan railway which has received the UNESCO World Heritage Area status. A visit to the rock garden. Shopping excursion in the bazaars. Option to experience a wide range of adventure sports like white water river rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding etc.

Day 57 – 58: The Himalayan ‘town of orchids’ - Kalimpong
Drive to Kalimpong. Accommodation in dome tents/hostels. Visit to the flower markets offering hundreds of different flower species specially orchids. Visit to the Buddhist monasteries, Deolo hill for exquisite mountain views, Kalimpong golf course (one of the most beautiful in the world), and cactus nursery for the ‘tequila plant’. Good Chinese food. White water river rafting in the River Teesta is also an option.

Day 59 – 61: City of Gangtok

Drive to Gangtok. Accommodation in hostels. The scenery from the town all around is amazing with exquisite views of the Himalayas. Visit to the Enchey Buddhist Monastery, Banjhakri waterfall. A ride on the ropeway cable car above the city. Authentic Himalayan food. Treks in the mountains around the city can also be arranged on request. Farewell trip meeting. Drop of at the airport/railway station. Trip ends.
