Drive to the town of Bharatpur. Accommodation will be in a luxury/ semi luxury hotel. Bharatpur has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage and also a RAMASAR site. It is a mixture of wetlands, grasslands and shrub forest making it a perfect birding paradise. Thousands of ducks, cranes, storks, teals migrate here in the winters to escape the cold in the North. We will spend 2 days exploring this park with a very experienced birder giving a serious boost to our checklist. On the third day we will drive to the River Chambal. We will do a boat cruise looking for the extremely rare Indian skimmers. Gavials, mugger crocs and dolphins also inhabit the river here.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 5 – 6: Delhi – Okhla Bird Sanctuary
Drive to Delhi. Accommodation will be in a luxury/ semi luxury hotel. Delhi is a busy metropolis but at the same time has a very rich birdlife. It supports a large number of vulnerable and endangered species like white rumped vulture, Baikal Teal, Baers Pochard, Sarus Crane, Sociable Lapwing, and Indian Skimmer. The area only being 3.5 sq. Km, we will use the walking trails to explore the park.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 7 – 8: Corbett National Park
Drive to the town of Ramnagar (Base town for exploring Corbett). Accommodation will be in a luxury/ semi luxury wildlife resort. Corbett has around 600 bird species which is almost half of what we can find in India. This makes it a must do for birders. We will be doing 2 wildlife safaris in open jeeps looking for resident, migratory and lots of endemic bird species. Stork billed kingfisher, black partridge, Kaleej pheasant, Pallas fishing eagle, white collared falconet, wall creeper, brown eared and black bulbul, brown fish owl, and several species of woodpeckers, parakeets, forktails are the birds to look out for. We will have a local birding expert to guide us. A walk on the bank of the River Ramganga is also a good option and can be rewarding with birds like the ibisbill.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 9 – 14: Ghatgarh – Camp Milieu
Drive to Camp Milieu in Ghatgarh. Accommodation will be in mud huts built at one of the most scenic spots. The camp is not fenced and wild animals are regular visitors. This place is a hidden gem for the birders. Not known to the world, this place is very rich in small forest birds. There are more than 350 species recorded in the Ghatgarh area. There are several birding trails which have been identified by the owner of the camp who will guide us here. This place will also act as our base for exploring the areas of Sattal and Pangot.
