Day 1: Delhi

We will pick you up from the airport or railway station. Accommodation will be in a city hotel. Post lunch we will drive to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary for a half day visit. Delhi is a busy metropolis but at the same time has a very rich birdlife. It supports a large number of vulnerable and endangered species like White Rumped vulture, Baikal Teal, Baers Pochard, Sarus Crane, Sociable Lapwing, and Indian Skimmer. The area only being 50 hectares, we will use the walking trails to explore the park.

Activity - Visit to the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

Day 2 – 4:Bharatpur – Keoladeo National Park

After breakfast we will take a morning train to Bhratpur. Accommodation will be in a hotel. Bharatpur has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage and also a RAMASAR site. It is a mixture of wetlands, grasslands and shrub forest making it a perfect birding paradise. Thousands of ducks, cranes, storks, teals migrate here in the winters to escape the cold in the North. We will spend 2 days exploring this park with a very experienced birder giving a serious boost to our checklist. On the third day we will drive to the River Chambal. We will do a boat cruise looking for the extremely rare Indian skimmers. Gavials, mugger crocs and dolphins also inhabit the river here.

Meals- Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Activity - 1 half day & 1 full days birding at Keoladeo National Park & 1 Morning boat safari at River Chambal.

Post lunch we will take our train from Bharatpur to Corbett. We will change a train in Delhi (with a 3 hours layover).

Meals- Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Activity - Optional - another morning birding session / Bharatpur fort visit

Day 6 – 7: Corbett National Park

With the overnight train arrive Corbett early in the morning and drive to your wildlife resort. Corbett has around 600 bird species which is almost half of what we can find in India. This makes it a must do for birders. We will be doing 2 wildlife safaris in open jeeps looking for resident, migratory and lots of endemic bird species. Stork billed kingfisher, black partridge, Kaleej pheasant, Pallas fishing eagle, white collared falconet, wall creeper, brown eared and black bulbul, brown fish owl, and several species of woodpeckers, parakeets, forktails are the birds to look out for. We will have a local birding expert to guide us. A walk on the bank of the River Ramganga is also a good option and can be rewarding with birds like the ibisbill.

Meals- Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Activity - 2 Jungle safaris and 1 half day birding walk

Day 8 – 10: Sattal

Leave Corbett early morning and drive to very scenic Sattal. It is a true hidden gem for birders. The name literally means a network of seven lakes, interconnected to each other. There are more than 350 forest birds to look for. On certain visits we have recorded around 45 species in a hour. We will be exploring Sattal on walks.

Meals- Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Activity - 2 full days of bird walks

Day 11 - 13: Pangot

Leaving Sattal behind, we will drive to the nearby village of Pangot. This is another one of those hidden treasures for avid birders. It is specially known for its pheasant sightings. Three major ones are Kaleej pheasant, Koklass pheasant and the cheer pheasant. There are again around 300 birds to look for here in the span of 3 three days. We will drive around and do short walks for exploring the birding trails here.
