Day 1 – 2: Delhi
You will be picked up from the Delhi Airport. Accommodation will be in a comfortable hostel. A short trip meeting at 18:00 hrs. City tour for visiting forts, palaces and ancient monuments. Red fort, Qutub Minar, Akshardham theme temple, Rashtrapati Bhawan. Connaught Place for shopping.
Day 3 – 4: City of Taj – Agra
Post breakfast we will head towards Agra. Accommodation will be in a comfortable city hotel. The day we arrive we will go for the mesmerizing sound and light show at the Taj. One of the Seven Wonders of the World certainly needs one whole day to be properly explored and appreciated. We will also visit the Red fort here. Some spare time can also be spent at the local bazaars here.
Day 5 – 7: Birding Mecca of Bharatpur + River Chambal boat cruise
Drive to the town of Bharatpur. On the way we will also stop at Fatehpur Sikri fort and Buland Darwaza (the grand gate). Accommodation will be in a semi luxury guest house. Bharatpur has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage and also a RAMASAR site. It is a mixture of wetlands, grasslands and shrub forest making it a perfect birding paradise. Thousands of ducks, cranes, storks, teals migrate here in the winters to escape the cold in the North. We will devote one full day exploring the park on foot. One can also hire bicycles here at an extra cost. On day 7 we will visit River Chambal for a boat cruise. It will be an excellent opportunity to see the elusive gharial, mugger crocs, fresh water dolphinsetc.
Day 8 – 10: Ranthambore National Park
Drive to the town of Sawai Madhopur which is our base for exploring Ranthambore. Accommodation will be in a comfortable resort. The day we arrive, we will visit the 1000 year old Ranthambore Fort. One can get a great view of the park from there. Ranthambore has been a pioneer in tiger conservation and today is one of the prime habitats for the big cat. It is also a great place to see the elusive leopard and sloth bear. On days 9 and 10 we have both morning and evening safaris planned here.
Day 11 – 13: Pink city Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur. Accommodation will be in a comfortable hostel. It probably is the most history rich city of India. While we stay here we will visit the Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh fort and Amer fort. Visit to a traditional village restaurant called Chauki Dhani for authentic Rajasthani meals. Street shopping excursion in the Bazaars. 2 full day city tours are planned to explore Jaipur.
Day 14 –15: Port city of Kochi
On day 14 after breakfast we will drive from Jaipur to Delhi for our flight to Kochi.Kochi is an ancient port city which has been a port since 1341. It was also the centre for world spice trade for centuries. We have a full day city tour planned on day 15 covering places of interest like the Kochi fort, Hill palace museum, Mattancherry palace a few churches etc.
Day 16 – 18 – The jewel of Munnar
Drive to Munnar. Accommodation in a good hotel/hostel. Visit to the Eravikulam national park.It is spread in an extensive area of 97 sq. km. on the crest of the Western Ghats. It is home to the highly endemic Nilgiri Tahr (a kind of mountain goat). Munnar also has some of the finest tea estates in India. On day 17 we have a trip planned to the Eravikulam National Park. On day 18 we have a full day Munnar tour planned.
Day 19 – 21 – Backwaters of Kerela – Aleppy
Drive to Alleppy. There are two ways of exploring Alleppy. The simple way is to stay in the town and go sightseeing in a car. The other way is to stay in a houseboat and explore the area on a 2 day cruise. This is how we will explore Aleppy. It is one of a kind experience staying in these traditionally made but luxurious houseboats.
Day 22 – 23 – beach town of Varkala
Drive to the town of Varkala. Accommodation will be in a semi–luxury resort.It is one of the very few beaches with cliff formation in India. Here you can relax on the sandy beaches, enjoy yummy seafood or go for water skiing.
Day 24 – 25 – Serene beaches of Kovalam
Drive to Kovalam. Accommodation will be in a semi luxury resort. It is definitely one of the most picturesque beaches in India located not so far from the city of Trivandrum. The most famous beach of all is the lighthouse beach. It has the beautiful swaying palms on one side and blue sea water on the other. You can either laze on the beaches here of engage in a number of other activities like surfing, speed boat rides etc. One small city tour is also planned here.
Day 26 – 27 Delhi
On day 26 after breakfast we will drive to Kochi for our flight to Delhi.We have an overnight stay here. The next day we will drop you to the airport where the trip ends.
